Robert C. Rubin, an Associate and member of the Firm’s workers’ compensation defense practice group, comes to the firm with thirty-seven years of experience litigating workers’ compensation cases from inception through final resolution, by trial or negotiated settlement. Mr. Rubin also has thirty years of experience as a certified and chair-qualified Circuit Court Mandatory Arbitrator in Lake and Cook Counties.
Mr. Rubin has previously worked for a multi-national law firm, and supervised workers’ compensation and third-party litigation for a major national insurer.
Mr. Rubin’s primary responsibilities include case management from initial assignment through arbitration and review, including initial case analysis; drafting of initial reports to clients, drafting of quarterly status reports and all client correspondence; researching and drafting memoranda on legal and medical issues; conducting settlement negotiations; preparing and presenting witnesses and physicians for depositions and trial testimony; preparing motions, proposed decisions, statements of exception and Circuit Court briefs; presenting motions and oral arguments before Arbitrators and Commissioners; and litigating Arbitration hearings, as well as bench an jury trials in the civil courts.
Mr. Rubin is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Rubin is a graduate of Drake University in English (B.A.), and Tulane University School of Law (J.D.).
