MATTHEW J. KOWALS is a Partner with the Firm and has over 15 years of experience litigating and trying cases for a wide variety of companies and insurers. The focus of Matt’s practice includes the areas of premises liability, motor carrier liability, wrongful death, construction incidents, and motor vehicle accidents. He has represented a wide variety of regional and national insurers throughout his years of practice. Matt believes that thorough investigation and attention to detail are imperative in the successful resolution of personal injury and wrongful death cases for his clients.
Matt is admitted to practice in both Indiana and Illinois, and the expertise gained by practicing in both states for many years gives him greater insight into the frequent multi-jurisdictional issues that arise in cases involving both Indiana and Illinois. Matt is admitted to practice in state courts in both Indiana and Illinois, and is also admitted to practice in Northern District of Indiana federal courts, Southern District of Indiana federal courts, Northern District of Illinois federal courts, and Central District of Illinois federal courts. Additionally, Matt is admitted to the Northern District of Illinois trial bar and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Matt is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A.) and obtained his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago.
